What are Deep Pocket Sheets?

Recently I've seen adverts for 'Deep Pocket Sheets'. never heard of them until I saw the adverts. So I thought to write about my findings for anyone else who has this curiosity and needs it answered.
Deep Pocket sheets are like regular sheets, but they are intented for mattresses that are slightly thicker than regular ones. They fit on mattresses that have a thickness of up to 16". So if you have a regular mattress with a toppper or two on it, deep pocket sheets are the thing for you. They come in the same variety of textiles as regular sheets, and in regular sizes too.
How do you know if you need Deep pocket sheets?
If you've recently bought a mattress topper, whether it's feather & down, memory foam or latex, what you need to do is put it on your bed and measure the thickness of them both. If you have two toppers measure the thickness of the toppers and the matress. If they are less than 16" then deep pocket sheets are what you need.
